Desi, Julie, and I had the chance to check out Georgetown Prep's fencing match against St. Anselm's the other day.
It was another barn burner, with Z again involved, by design, in the closing bout of the competition. Unlike the last match, in which Z was under great pressure to score a lot of touches in a short amount of time, this time he was working with a four-touch lead. With the tables turned, his opponent fenced aggressively, with Z playing defense well enough to hold off the charge and run the clock out.
The final score: Prep 44, St. Anselm's 42. As for Z, he recorded 20 touches and was touched 13 times (after a 24-9 performance last time out). Nice work!
