Frozen Falls

This is what Cunningham Falls, the longest cascading waterfall in the state of Maryland, looked like the other day when we made it out there during a four-hour hike through the Catoctins. (Click here for a view during the summertime.) As for the trails themselves, all were covered in several inches of packed snow (read, ice). Believe me, we were all feeling it the next day!

Winter is a great time to hike. You can walk through the woods without worrying about bugs. Without leaves on the trees, you can see far. It's awesome!
