While tossing traditions so that new ones can be established may be all well and good, there was no way that my two favorite decorations were staying in the box this way. (Or any year.) An so permission was granted to me by the decorating committee to dust off our ceramic pumpkin (painted by Steve when he was eight) and three pieces of artwork done by Julie and Z in elementary school. These oldies-but-goodies feature two portraits of bats with characteristic "blood teeth" (a term coined by Z when he was five) and a picture of "October" reminiscent of Halloweens of old spent trick-or-treating with Lisa and Peter (note the trick-or-treat bags say "JLZP") who are now a bit beyond neighborhood candy runs as a sophomore in college and a senior in high school.

You should laminate those pictures so they last forever!

I think I may plan a field trip to FedEx Kinkos to do just that! Great idea! Thanks!
