Hot Pot Of A Different Sort

Here's the latest installment of "Guess What Food This Restaurant Serves."

First clue...It was indeed hot pot.

Second clue...Friends of mine visiting from Wuhan took me to this place. (That's a clue for the aficionados.)

Third clue...Desi and the kids weren't there for the festivities.

The restaurant sign says "Hua Jiang Gou Rou." This is a particularly famous type of dog meat that comes from Guizhou Province in the southwest of China, where there are many minority peoples. The meat is thinly sliced and cooked, as is always the case with hot pot, in a big bowl of boiling water, with vegetables and other condiments of your choosing. For my part, I thought the mushrooms were particularly good...
