England on a Shoe-string Budget

Better bring the whole shoe! These prices are killing me. They all sound good like "a pound or a pound-fifty" for a bus ride…"Four pounds-seventy" for a cab ride. Even 199,000 pounds for a nice little home on the outskirts of town. Then you do the conversion. Since the dollar has lost its proverbial "value" across Europe, the exchange rate is less than half. No bargains here. Ten dollars to go 3 miles in a cab? That’s as bad as twelve dollars to go from 17th Street to Georgetown in DC!
